On Wednesday, April 26th, National Marker Company was fortunate enough to have Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo visit our facility. After finding out about her visit, we wanted to give her a warm NMC welcome the way we do best!
Governor Raimondo is a huge advocate for small businesses in RI, and was so pleased to see manufacturing alive and well in the state. She was impressed with our state of the art machines, printers, and systems that we have in place. But what really stuck out to her was the teamwork of the NMC associates, and how we come together as a family to surpass our goals.
NMC is proud to help “Solarize North Smithfield”. As a company that is paving the way for Rhode Island’s green initiatives, we were excited to show the 800 solar panels we have on our roof. These solar panels are used to power 95% of the signs we manufacture – something that Governor Raimondo was very excited by.
What was most humbling about this experience was how kind and friendly Governor Raimondo was to each and every associate. She went out of her way to shake everyone’s hand and learn a little bit about everyone she met. It was awesome to see such an important political figure in our organization who truly went out of her way to meet every person she could. It was a great day for all, and quite an honor for National Marker Company to host Governor Raimondo.governor, manufacturing, NMC, raimondo, rhodeisland, visit
